You gotta hand it to the Swiss. Even though you’ll probably never need to use that tiny saw that comes in its army knife, it is kind of cool to know that you’ve got one—plus a dozen other tools—in such a tiny, tiny space. And really, you never know when you’ll need to saw yourself off of a tree limb.
The Swiss aren’t the only ones who are in love with efficiency. It’s part of the reason that a place like The Pod Hotel could garner rave reviews in a city packed with amazing hotel rooms. It’s why so many of us are mistakenly in love with multitasking. And most important, it’s why I totally fell in love with Sandra Tsing Loh’s podcast, The Loh Life.
There are plenty of good—great—podcasts that are more bloated than they need to be. This is not one of them.
Loh doesn’t mess around. She’s three minutes of funny each Monday, mostly talking about her life as a mom and the other people who populate her universe in Southern California. In one podcast, she talks about moms who insist on natural remedies to treat every malady their kids might have. I forget the line exactly, but it was something about how these women put the socio in homeopath. Heh.
Her rapid-fire delivery takes some getting used to, but it’s worth it. Don’t listen when you’re distracted—you can miss a half dozen one liners in 30 seconds. And tht wd b dsapnting.
